What is Sir Charles Bell Society?

Why become member of the Sir Charles Bell Society?
Disorders of the facial nerve are extremely complex and can seriously decrease the quality of life in many patients. Historic, different disciplines (e.g. ENT-, plastic and neurosurgeons, physiotherapists, neurologists, psychologists)  , are involved in diagnostics and therapeutical approaches in patients suffering from facial nerve dysfunctions of various etiologies. It is imperative that all these medical disciplines, working together, combine their unique talents to achieve the best outcome for affected patients.

The Sir Charles Bell Society (SCBS) is a non-profit multidisciplinary medical  organisation founded in 1992 in Cologne.  The intention of the SCBS is to concentrate knowledge and to present a platform of exchange for all people and professions dealing with facial nerve problems. It is dedicated to the collection, the dissemination and the interchange of ideas relating to the facial nerve, thus furthering cooperation and encouraging global friendship to improve the quality of care of facial palsy patients.

The organisation of a quadrennial International Symposium (next time in 2013 in Boston) has become a major tool. However the maintenance of a website has become an important instrument as well.

If you, as a (para)medical professional,  are interested in all or one of these matters please join the SCBS (click banner on top). Your membership will be instrumental in enhancing the international community of dedicated practicioners and furthering the ongoing advancement in the treatment of facial nerve disorders!

As a paid member of the SCBS you will be eligible for reduced fees to the Symposium as well as full acces to the protected areas of the website and voting privileges at the Members Meeting in Boston (scheduled in 2013)

We would welcome you as a new member of the SCBS.
